Atlanta Regional Education Mission Trip
​
As program director, I led a delegation of educational leaders on a mission trip to the states of Bahia and Pernambuco, Brazil in September, 2013. The purpose of this delegation trip was to explore partnership opportunities with colleges and universities in Brazil that may lead to student and faculty exchanges as well as research and service learning projects.
RESULT: Educational leaders were able to form professional relationships with government officials in Bahia and Pernambuco as well as education leaders of universities in those states in establishing potential future collaborations in student and teacher exchanges and joint faculty research.

Fulton County Global Youth Leadership Program- Volunteer/Coordinator

As program coordinator, I assisted in creating a program that supported the mission of FCGYLP. FCGYLP strives to educate students on the global economy and its present day challenges. Additionally, the organization instills in Youth Amabassadors the specific knowledge, life-skills and social tolerance necessary for driving success in their career of choice. In 2013, I led a delegation of 22 students to Brazil for ten days.
RESULT: Students became immersed in Portuguese and the Brazilian culture, became inspired by new and exciting experiences abroad and have begun to develop a foundation of intercultural knowledge. All the seniors on the trip have been accepted to a college/university and will continue thier studies. Because of their international experience through this program, students have expressed their desire to continue to learn world languages and incoroporate a global perspective in their academics and future professional careers.

Auburn University - State University of Pernambuco, Brazil Collaboration

In this latest project on course/certification development, I will be working under Dr. Jose Llanes, who is also my major Thesis Advisor. The project constistutes a collaboration between Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, U.S.A. and the State University of Pernambuco, Brazil. The purpose of the project is to explore faculty and administrative interest in the development of a special certificate which would include four or five courses on theory & practice of higher education administration, also the blending of UPE faculty and Auburn faculty to teach these courses and pursuing joint research.
